Zinedine Yazid Zidane, the retired French footballer, looked suave wearing a grey Nehru suit, at a recent press conference in Mumbai. The 43-year-old even greeted the attendees with a Namaste, reported DNA India.
Zidane is currently in India with his wife Veronique Zidane, to promote a Mumbai-based Real Estate Company Kanakia. He even took the opportunity to speak about the headbutt incident that occurred in the 2006 FIFA World Cup final and wished the episode hadn’t happened.
“I am not proud of what happened in 2006,” said the French player. “That was something that should not have happened. Things could have ended differently. I don’t advise anyone to do that. It’s part of life to make mistakes and learn from them.”
As the current Real Madrid coach, he tells his team not to repeat his mistake. “My way of imparting what I have learnt is telling the players back in Madrid not to do what I did.” The retired football player will be busy again coaching his team for the UEFA Euro 2016.
