ISLAMABAD - President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday said that Zarb-e-Azb military operation has achieved significant successes and emphasized that the government was determined to continue it till complete elimination of the last terrorist.
He was talking to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan, who called on him here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. The president underlined the need to introduce constructive reforms in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) to address the issues of the people of region adding that the government was sincerely taking measures in this regard by taking all the stakeholders on board.
He said that the government was committed to bring the region at par with other areas of the country by completing ongoing development projects and providing socio-economic amenities to improve the standard of life of the people of the area.
Underscoring the dignified return of Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) to their native areas, the President said that timely repatriation and rehabilitation of TDPs was top priority of the government.
The damaged infrastructure would be rebuilt and economic incentives would be provided for bringing the life back to normalcy in the region, he added.
The president appreciated the improved security situation in FATA and Pakhtunkhwa and commended Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan for taking steps for the welfare of the people.
