LAHORE: A clash between the workers of PML-N and PTI during local bodies election campaign on Monday led to firing which left two PTI worker dead along with four workers injured from the both parties.
According to details, four PTI activists and one PML-N worker were injured in firing in Yaki Gate area. The injured were rushed to hospital where 28-year-old Khurrum Gujar and Arif, both PTI activists, succumbed to their injuries.
The PTI filed a First Information Report (FIR) for murder against seven PML-N workers including Chaudhry Zahid, Malik Ditta and Ahmed Butt
PTI leaders Chaudhry Sarwar, Shafqat Mahmood and Aleem Khan reached the spot after the incident. Speaking to newsmen, PTI leader Shafqat Mahmood said that this is a test case for Punjab police. PTI workers have blamed PML-N activists for the attack.
On the other hand, DG Operations, Haider Ashraf along with a heavy contingent of police also reached the spot. He said that special teams have been constituted to arrest the culprits behind this incident.
