ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad filed a reference at the Speaker’s Office for disqualification of PM Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday.
The AML chief said that the disqualification reference against Nawaz Sharif consisted of 162 pages. Sheikh Rasheed also disclosed that he had made the disclosures of the Panama Papers the basis of the disqualification reference.
“I have requested the Speaker to play his constitutional role with impartiality,” said Sheikh Rasheed.
Three major political parties including PTI, PAT and PPP have filed disqualification references against the Prime Minister with the Election Commission, accusing the PM of concealing his foreign assets from the ECP.
