Shane Warne bitten on the head by anaconda

Former Australian cricketer Shane Warne was treated by medics in the South African jungle after he was bitten on the head by a snake.

The former Australian Test cricketer was bitten on the South African jungle set of I’m A Celebrity.Get Me Out Of Here! during the latest challenge on the Network Ten reality show. Although non-venomous, Anacondas are aggressive and have a painful bite that is compared to getting 100 hypodermic needles at once.

Warne received some small marks, but will bear no permanent scarring. The juvenile Anaconda struck as he put his head in a box of different kinds of snakes as part of the show’s Tucker Trial, which airs on Thursday night.

Using only his mouth in the race-against-time challenge, he had to obtain stars, which represented meals for his hungry camp mates.

First, he put his head in a box of rats, then a box of snakes hissing with Anacondas, Rat Snakes and Corn Snakes. Host Dr Chris Brown warned Warne beforehand to be careful, as the snakes will be able to smell a rat on him and think he is food.

The 46-year-old retired spin bowler dipped his head into a box full of slithering snakes and yelped as a feisty anaconda moved upwards and nipped him on the head.
