Security Talks: Sartaj Aziz To Visit India On August 23

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz on Thursday confirmed that he will visit New Delhi for security talks on August 23.

“I can briefly confirm that I will be going to India on August 23 for talks,” Sartaj Aziz told a joint press conference with visiting Iranian foreign minister Javad Zarif in Islamabad.

Aziz said his visit is not a breakthrough in terms of composite dialogue and all the issues but at least it is an ice breaking on some issues and let’s hope it will lead to further more comprehensive dialogue on the other issues between the two countries.

On 10 July, on the sidelines of the BRICS  summit in Russia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif agreed upon the meeting of National Security Advisers in Delhi.
