SC halts death penalty of 3 APS attack convicts

Supreme Court (SC) has halted the death penalty of three convicts of APS Peshawar attack. The apex court ordered Attorney General to present the appeals submitted against their death penalty verdict.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Dost Muhammad and Justice Faez Isa heard the appeal against Peshawar High Court.
Taj Muhammad, Ali ur Rehman, Qari Zubair Muhammad were awarded death sentence by the military court in July 2015.
Mehro Bibi mother of Taj Muhammad and Sakhi Muhammad brother had filed the appeal against the high court.

The court issued notice to Attorney General for Pakistan and the JAG branch and suspended the execution till 16-02-2016.
The AGP has been ordered to submit the unsigned copy of military court order not disclosing the name and designation of the authority that had awarded the death sentence.
