The official visit of Saudi Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir to Pakistan has been postponed. “The visit has been postponed merely two hours before his scheduled arrival in Islamabad,” Foreign Office said in a statement.
According to sources the Saudi minister was coming to Pakistan for discussion pertaining to the newly created 34-country counter-terrorism collation. “He was supposed to convince Pakistani leadership to be a physical partner in the collation,” media sources said.
During his visit he was supposed to meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Raheel Sharif.
The visit has been postponed after a tense situation rising out of executions Saudi religious leader Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr by Saudi government that has put the Kingdom at odd with Iran and its allies.
