Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri said the government will implement the National Action Plan (NAP) in the province. He has said this during an Apex Committee meeting at Quetta.
The Apex Committee meeting is under way, in which high level civil and military officials are present. The Balochistan chief minister is chairing the meeting.
Provincial Interior Minister Meer Sarfaraz Bugti, Chief Secretary of Balochistan and Commander Southern Lieutenant General Amir Riaz are among the participants.
“The participants are analyzing all aspects of the implementation of NAP in the province,” sources said.
Balochistan has been experiencing a new wave of militancy since the change in provincial government from the Nationalist party to PML-N.
During the previous government numerous insurgent commanders have surrendered and joined the political system in the province.
New government under Sanaullah Zehri has to deal with the rise in militancy.
On January 17 a polio office was attacked in Quetta, which was followed by a suicide attack on FC convoy on February 6. Another attack targeted FC convoy on February 8.
