LAHORE: The Punjab government will provide Rs 1.66 billion to the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Lahore for the improvement of water supply system in
MA Johar Town and Tajpura areas with the aim to provide clean drinking water at union council level.This project include installation of 94 mega filtration plants at the source on newly established tube wells in these localities.The tube wells will be installed in the grounds of Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) and the people will carry clean water from these points
Sources in WASA said that the project will be completed in two phases till 2016. The sources said that WASA already sought permission from the PHA to issue NOC for installation of tube wells and filtration plants on the PHA land. As soon as the NOC is granted, the WASA will start operation to install tube wells, it said.
