LAHORE: Provincial Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said it was a responsibility of the media to project positive image of the country.
Addressing the participants at the launching of Electronic Media Producer’s Rights Association (EMPRA) on Sunday, he said highlighting soft-image of the state by the media houses was tantamount to national service.
The minister said achievements of the government should be appreciated, adding that the Punjab government, under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, has brought about revolutionary changes in the education sector in the recent years.
Rana Mashood said there had been great advance in educating the youth, adding that Britain has been a major partner of the Punjab government.
He said the Punjab government had been educating 10 million boys and girls which was the largest school system in the world today.
The minister said, “Our students had achieved distinction in the world and their success stories needed to be highlighted.
Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Senator Saeed Ghani, PTI MNA Shafqat Mehmood, representatives from the media and journalists attended the ceremony.
