PTI will not attend Parliament session

ISLAMABAD (Neo Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shafqat Mehmood said that the party’s members will not attend the National Assembly session until Parliament does not decide on motions seeking to de-seat the PTI lawmakers.

Shafqat said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s problem was “not difficult to understand as he has been beaten badly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”

Dispelling the notion that the PTI had sought some time, he said: “We are very much clear on our position. We will not go to Parliament until a decision is made.”

He said that the MQM too was facing a threat from the PTI in Karachi.

The JUI-F and the MQM had submitted two similar motions seeking to disqualify the PTI legislators over their absence from Parliament for 40 consecutive days during their party’s protest sit-in last year.

Lawmakers of the PTI later walked out of the National Assembly session today, with senior leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi reiterating that the party will not attend the session until the House decides on the matter.
