Karachi: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will hold ‘Salam shuhada’ rally today to pay tribute to the Karsaz tragedy victims of October 18th. The preparations for the rally have been accelerated.
The rally will be led by party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Security measures were taken to avoid any unwanted incident.
According to the Additional IG Karachi full-proof security plan was formulated; over 8 thousand police officials were deployed alongside the rally’s route for security. The rally’s route is parted into nine sectors and nine sub-sectors; SSP and SP rank officer will be in-charge to maintain peace in the assigned sector. 100 police personnel were deployed in each sector.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address the party activists and supporters at 10 am today and rally will start from Bilawal House roundabout near Clifton. He will be guarded by the party workers as well.
The ‘Salam Shuhuda’ rally will begin from Bilawal House and will reach Lee Market through Boat Basin, Maulvi Tameezuddin Road, Jinnah Bridge, Kharadar Jamatkhana and Kakri Ground.
A massive crowd of PPP workers is expected to participate in the rally. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto will address the rally at Bilawal chowrangi, Lee Market, Numaish Chowrangi and Karsaz.
Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was targeted in the bomb attack while at least 180 people were killed and numerous injured on October 18, 2007. PPP will honor Benazir Bhutto and other martyrs with the ‘Salam Shuhuda’ rally.
