KARACHI: Police are facing an uphill task in investigating that attack on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Abdul Rashid Godil.
A case is yet to be registered while no eyewitness has come forward to record a statement. Police said they have been unable to contact the eyewitness who had driven Godil and his driver to the hospital after the attack.
Police have also not been able to prepare sketches of the attackers.
There has been some headway in the investigation as CCTV video from Defence till the attack site has been obtained.
According to sources the attackers started following Godil from Defence and remained with the car on Baloch Colony and Shaheed-e-Millat Road.
It is expected that further evidence will be obtained from Godil’s mobile phone record.
A team has been constituted which will lead by DIG East Muni Shaikh to investigate the attack on Rashid Godil.
MQM leader Abdul Rashid Godil was critically wounded after unknown gunmen opened fire at his car in Bahadrubad area of Karachi on Tuesday. His wife escaped unhurt while his driver was killed.
