LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party leader Aitzaz Ahsan said on Monday that parliament would decide Pakistan’s role in Saudi-Iran conflict.
Aitzaz Ahsan, while talking to media in Lahore High Court premises, cited that Pakistan should not indulge in the row between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
He said Pakistan’s partisan side in the dispute could deteriorate internal situation in the country.
The PPP leader urged the federal government to convene a joint session of the parliament to discuss Pakistan’s role in the Saudi-Iran standoff, adding that it was a sensitive issue and government should restrain talking any decision of its own.
Pakistan’s opposition parties urging the government not to take sides, in tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia after Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al Jubeir and Deputy Crown Prince and Defence Minister Mohammed bin Salman arrived in Islamabad and met with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif.
