Pakistan require 284 against England

ABU DHABI – England – who won the toss and batted – scored 283-5 in their 50 overs in the second day-night international against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

Opener Alex Hales smashed his maiden one-day hundred with 109, while Joe Root (63) and Jason Roy (54) also contributed to the team’s total here at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. For Pakistan, paceman Wahab Riaz grabbed 3-43.

On Wednesday, Pakistan beat England by six wickets in the first day-night international, taking a 1-0 lead in the four-match series. Earlier in the day, Pakistan’s senior batsman Younis Khan announced he was quitting one-day internationals after the game, ending a 265-match career.
