Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has pledged not to allow the terrorists to return and reverse the gains made in anti-terrorism operations.
He was speaking during his visit to forward area in North and South Waziristan Agencies on Wednesday where he offered Eid prayers at Shawal and interacted with troops.
The Army Chief said that FATA has been purged of the terrorists who are now on the run.
He said the nation and valiant Army have paid a huge price for eliminating terrorists and restoring peace in the country. He said that we will not let these sacrifices go waste.
General Raheel Sharif declared that operations against terrorists of all hue and colour will continue.
He said as consolidation goes on and operational dividends optimized for Pak-Afghan Border region, Pakistan will not allow anyone to use its soil against Afghanistan.
He directed all commanders, intelligence and law enforcing agencies to take concrete measures against violators.
The Army Chief said that peace and stability along Pak-Afghan border remains our priority and we will commit all our efforts for it. He said border management and dignified repatriation of Afghan refugees are important enablers for lasting peace.
He said our efforts for peace in Afghanistan have been acknowledged. He said while we are committed to facilitate the reconciliation process with sincerity, commitment and resolve, we expect non-use of Afghanistan territory against Pakistan.
General Raheel Sharif was briefed by Corps Commander and Formation Commander in detail, about ongoing sanitization and stabilization operation as part of Zarb-e-Azb and post operation security environment.
