No network of Islamic State militant group in Punjab: Sanaullah

ISLAMABAD: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah claimed there is no network of Islamic State militant group — Daesh — in Punjab.

Talking to the press conference at Punjab Assembly Cafeteria here Wednesday, the minister said that Punjab govt had not received any evidence regarding organisational structure of Daesh in Punjab. He elaborated that other terrorist groups are using Daesh’s name and causing in Punjab.

However, the minister accepted that only a few people from Punjab went to Syria while many were stopped from doing so in preemptive action.

He also confirmed that they were well-informed by the activities of some individuals who were linked with some banned organisations in the past and now be affiliated them with Daesh but they had no any organisational structure.

Rana Sanaullah has maintained that cities in Punjab do not have a situation similar to Karachi. He said that the law enforcers were best performing in Punjab, adding that LEAs were also taking actions in Kacha areas as well.

After Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Rana Sanaullah also criticised National Accountability Bureau, saying that NAB should perform its duties with responsibility. He added that NAB would not be allowed to take action in order to please others and balance its actions, being taken in other provinces.
