Nabi, who struck a boundary to help Quetta Gladiators clinch a last-ball thriller against Lahore Qalandars in Dubai on Tuesday night, played eight matches for the franchise. Nabi said that playing in the PSL with the Gladiators was an amazing experience. “This has been one of the most amazing experiences of my career as I shared the dressing with some of the best players. The atmosphere in the camp throughout was such that we enjoyed each other’s’ company” said Nabi.
“Moin (the coach) Sir Vivian Richards and all the players were very welcoming and we played like a family. I pray that my team win the inaugural PS and they can do it even without me because there are lot of match-winners in it. And most importantly we play as a team” he added. Nabi was a vital cog of the Quetta Gladiators squad and featured in all the eight matches. And coach Moin Khan said that he would be missed.
Nabi had scored an unbeaten 30 from 12 balls with three boundaries and two sixes as the Gladiators overcame a record target of 202. “Nabi became a very important part of Quetta Gladiators as he bowled well in tough situations throughout. So we will miss him badly,” said Moin.
“It was unfortunate that he was not getting a proper opportunity with the bat but he showed his worth with the bat last night (Tuesday) by winning us an unbelievable match against the Qalandars. He had told everyone in the dugout before walking out on the pitch that he’ll win this match for the fans of Quetta and he did. Only big players have this sort of attitude and I wish him success in the Asia Cup,” he added.
