Mosque Roof collapse during Friday Prayers leaves five dead

At least five people died while several others injured on Friday as roof of a mosque caved in during Friday prayers in North Nazimabad area of Karachi, Express News reported.According to reports, a number of people were hurt as part of Jamia Masjid Usman located in Landi Kotal collapsed during Friday prayers.

Police and rescuers arrived at the scene and shifted the injured to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for emergency medical treatment.Four bodies and eight injured were brought to the hospital, Assistant Police Surgeon Dr Robina told.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah expressed deep grief and sorrow over the incident and directed the Karachi commissioner to submit an inquiry report in the matter.

The CM further directed the commissioner to provide best medical facilities to those injured and to have the debris removed from the mosque.
