Redmond giant Microsoft on Friday launched its budget Windows 10 Mobile totting phone, the Lumia. The Lumia 550 was announced along with the Lumia 950 and 950XL at Microsoft’s annual Surface event in October. The Lumia 950 and 950XL are already available.
The Lumia 550 features a polycarbonate shell body and has a 4.7-inch HD IPS display with a 720×1280 pixels resolution and 315ppi pixel density. It is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor coupled with Adreno 304 GPU and 1GB RAM. It comes with 8GB of internal memory which is further expandable by up to 200GB via microSD card. The singleSIM phone supports 4G LTE and runs Windows 10 Mobile out-of-the-box.
The Lumia 550 sports a 5-megapixel camera on the rear with autofocus and LED flash. There’s also a 2-megapixel camera on the front. The phone uses a 2,100mAh battery.Microsoft recently launched its flagship phones Lumia 950 & 950 XL. The Lumia 950 and 950XL are being touted as top-of-the-line productivity devices by the company. Both the phones support Windows 10 Continuum feature. A dedicated Microsoft Display Dock (sold separately) extends these phones into a full-blown desktop Windows 10 when connected to an external monitor. Users can also connect a mouse and keyboard to the dock.
