ISLAMABAD: Former Test captain Javed Miandad has expressed his dismay over Pakistan’s defeat against England in the third ODI of the ongoing series in the UAE. Miandad has alleged that the starting 11 was selected according to Pakistan team head coach Waqar Younis’ personal wishes.
Miandad said that Waqar was responsible for the defeat, to a great extent, and hence should be replaced. He also believes that opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad had also been victimised by Waqar, over apparent disciplinary issues.
“My question to the PCB selection committee is that if Shehzad had disciplinary issues with the coach and team management than why is he included in the Twenty20s and not ODIs?” Miandad asked while talking to APP.
