LOS ANGELES: Madonna- a renowned American singer-song writer, has lauded Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s impending documentary film on late Pakistani social media starlet, Qandeel Baloch.
“Proud to narrate my friend Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s latest film about Qandeel Baloch, the Pakistani social media star, who was murdered by her brother in an ‘honor killing.’” Madonna shared an instagram post.
She admired the government of Pakistani for closing a legal gap that had long been broken by lawbreakers in the country to escape penalty after murdering in the name of ‘honour’.
Madomma said “Tha anti-honour killing bill passed by the Pakistan government, closing the loophole that allowed killers to walk free. And it is so good to see positive change happend in the world.”
The prominent singer also expressed sorrow, saying too bad Qandeel and so many others had to die first.
