Laptop seized from Safoora culprits sent for forensic investigation

KARACHI – Sindh Police’s Counter-Terrorism Department on Saturday sent the laptop seized from the two terrorists involved in the Safoora Goth massacre – which left 47 dead – for forensic investigation.

The development came after the counter-terrorism department on Friday arrested the vice chancellor of a private university over charges of financing al Qaeda and aiding the Safoora Goth massacre.

Adil Massod Butt – a close aide and business partner of Safoora Goth attack’s main suspect – Saad Aziz – was arrested by the counter-terrorism department from the Clifton area on December 2.

At least 47 people were killed and 13 others wounded on May 14 when armed men opened fire inside a bus carrying members of the Ismaili community near Safoora Chowk in Karachi.
