LAHORE – The Lahore Literary Festival (LLF) 2016 organisers revised schedule of festival and announced that all sessions scheduled on the first day of the LLF have been cancelled.
According to the statement issued here on Thursday, the LLF will start on Feb 20 (Saturday) and conclude on Sunday. “The festival will now only be held on two days instead of three owing to security concerns, a source close to the development told.” “Originally, this year’s festival was scheduled to commence on Friday, February 19. The change has been made on the advice of the Punjab government,” it added.
“The programme – which is being revised accordingly – and the venue shall be notified soon,” the statement read. “If the venue will not be finalised till tomorrow, the LLF organisers would option for alternative options to organize the event including some local hotels,” According to the Daily Times sources said. The statement also expressed regret of any inconvenience to be faced by coming visitors.
