Lahore factory collapse: 250 Army troops busy in rescue operation

LAHORE - Over 250 army troops including an Urban Rescue and Search team along with four engineers plants, two loaders and two excavators, two dumpers and four ambulances are busy in rescue operation since last night at the site of collapsed building in Lahore, said an ISPR spokesman here on Thursday.

It may be mentioned here that sixteen labourers were killed and 71 sustained injuries, while 71 others were retrieved alive from the debris of a four-storey polythene bags factory that collapsed at Sundar Industrial Estate near Multan Road on Wednesday.

While, many other workers are feared to be still trapped under the debris, hence the rescue operation is under way jointly by the teams of the army and Rescue 1122.
