KPK wins Pakistan Cup, defeats Punjab by 151 runs

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) won the Pakistan Cup 2016 after comprehensively beating Punjab in the final match by a massive margin of 151 runs at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.

KPK Captain Younis Khan won the toss and decided to bat first in the match; Younus Khan scored 311 runs while losing 9 wickets in the first innings. KPK Openers Ahmed Shahzad and Fakhar Zaman played a surprising inning with 118 runs partnership. Ahmed Shahzad made half century on 25 balls, while he scored a total of 62 runs with the help of seven fours and two sixes on 45 balls. While, Fakhar Zaman of KP played a surprising innings of 115 continues running of 111 balls which included 12 fours and 3 sixes.

However, Zohaib Khan scored 12, Younis Khan 49, Faheem Ashraf 31, Musadiq Ahmed Anees, Bismillah Khan 5 each and Yasir Shah scored four runs.

Punjab team failed to chase the target and the whole team was out at 160 runs in 36.1 overs. Opener Shan Masood 36 and Shoaib Malik 24 were the fundamental extraordinary suppliers for Punjab.

Yasir Shah and Zohaib Khan bowled superbly as they picked 3 wickets each whereas Zia-ul-Haq picked 2 wickets. KP won the match comfortably by 151 runs.

Fakhar Zaman was declared Man of Match for his superb performance in the match.
