ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly (NA) Khursheed Shah rebuffing the absence of PM Nawaz Sharif and ministers from the Parliament said that the behavior showed Parliament’s significance for the government.
He criticised the government while addressing the participants in the National Assembly.
Shah reminded that the Parliament had driven the government out of troubled situations. PM Nawaz Sharif and the ministers do not attend assembly sessions except few, he added.
He said that the Parliament has no standing if every matter is decided by courts, adding that none from the government is giving the Parliament its due respect, he added.
The Opposition Leader said that the Parliament is losing people’s trust. He said that the government passed around 37 while the opposition at least 57 bills in the last two and a half years.
Shah urged the National Assembly Speaker to take suo moto notice.
