Indian police arrest Gilani, Mirwaiz in Srinagar

In Occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq when they came out of their residences and tried to march towards Martyrs’ Graveyard in Srinagar on Thursday.

The authorities sealed all roads leading to Eidgah to prevent people from marching towards the martyrs’ graveyard.

Curfew and others restrictions continued to paralyze the routine life in Kashmir for the 34th consecutive day on Thursday.

Meanwhile, APHC Chairman Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik jointly called for a referendum march towards Lal Chowk, Srinagar, on Saturday and Sunday.

On the other hand, Kashmiris living across the Line of Control and in different cities of Europe staged demonstrations against the civilian killings at the hands of Indian armed forces in the ongoing Intifada in Kashmir.

One such demonstration was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front outside European Union Parliament in Brussels. The demonstrators asked India to stop the genocide of the Kashmiri people.
