Brisk preparations are afoot to mark the 70th Independence Day in a befitting manner across the country.
A large number of makeshift shops have also sprung up in various parts of the country selling the national flags, buntings, souvenirs, stickers, pictures and portraits of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Various organizations and institutions have chalked out elaborate programmes in connection with the Independence Day celebrations. These include seminars, symposia, debate, skits, tableau and competition of national songs.
Azadi Train arrives in KP
Meanwhile, Advisor to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Amir Muqam and a large number of people warmly received Azadi Train at Cantt Railway Station Peshawar on Friday night.
On arrival of train people started chanting slogans Pakistan Zindabad.
Earlier, the train left for Peshawar from Margalla Station Islamabad as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
From Peshawar the Azadi Train begins journey of the whole country on Friday. It will reach Karachi on the 5th of the next month and terminate at Golra Railway Station on the 13th.
Addressing the participants of Azadi Train reception at Peshawar, Advisor to PM Amir Muqam said the train is a symbol of unity and it remind us the sacrifices rendered by our elders for independence of our beloved country.
