ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has summoned a party meeting today (Monday) which will be held here at 11:00am at the Margalla Hotel. Around 200 leaders are expected to be present for the brain-storming session, which is likely to witness fireworks too by some angry party members.
Provincial organizers of Punjab and Sindh will submit reports related to local body polls to the party leadership. In regards of the future strategy, the senior leadership will review proposals to set PTI’s po-litical agenda.
On the other hand, significant decisions related to party’s member-ship and organizational elections will also be taken.
Meanwhile, PTI chairperson Imran Khan has reportedly sought a report on the performance of the party’s organizers in Karachi. Khan asked Zaidi the reason for the party’s poor performance in the LB polls of Karachi, reported party officials.
According to insiders, presently, PTI has been divided into two groups on the matter of party elections.
One group is not in favor of immediate elections whereas the second group wants elections based on democratic traditions. PTI chief has himself admitted of resistance within the party regarding the party elections therefore; final decision will be taken after consultation with senior leadership. Moreover, PTI’s election commission has also completed the arrangements to initiate the membership campaign in regard of which significant decisions will also be taken today.
