LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has allowed Chaudhary Mohammad Sarwar to contest PTI intra-party elections.
Sarwar has also announced that he will contest the intra-party elections because there is no clause of the Election Commission that halts him from contesting the election for a PTI Punjab president post.
Addressing the workers on the occasion of lunch given by party leader Muhammad Umar on Sunday, he said Imran had taken the noble step of announcing intra-party elections and every worker of the party supports the decision of the chairman.
He testified that he had already asked Imran during a party election meeting whether he could contest the intra-party elections after resigning from governorship to which Imran gave him go ahead.
Sarwar also promised the party workers to award them their due respect. He confirmed that his part vote bank has doubled as compared to 2013 general elections. He expressed the hope that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will form a government in the federation as well as provinces including Punjab.
