Baku: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif discussed many bilateral issues with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during a joint meeting on Friday.
Pakistani premier emphasized to build strong economic bonding, investment ties and cooperation between the two countries.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that he is very delighted that Pakistani Prime Minister accepted his invitation to visit Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev also announced that Azerbaijan will hold mutual army exercises and trainings with Pakistan.
Ilham Aliyev said, “Pakistan is our close friend and ally and both countries support each other on global forums and we want strong, friendly relations with Pakistan.”
Both sides also discussed several other international issues, including the situation of South Asian Region particularly Occupied Kashmir.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif lauded Azerbaijan for supporting Pakistan on the issue of Indian Occupied Kashmir.
The PM said in the joint press, “We believe that all the regional and global issues must be resolved through dialogue and peaceful means within the framework of international law.”
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan has always been an advocate of peace and development rather than aggression. He also added that bilateral trade between the two countries needed to be improvised. He appreciated the socioeconomic development and progress of Azerbaijan.
