Govt to ensure return of displaced persons with honour, respect: PM

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said the government would ensure return of Temporarily Displaced People (TDP) to their native areas with honour and respect.

He was talking to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, who called on him here at the PM House. The prime minister said the entire nation in general and the people of FATA in particular, deserve due recognition for their support in the war against terrorism.

PM Nawaz expressed the hope that the governor would continue to work for the development and welfare of the people of FATA and Pakhtunkhwa. He said the government was committed and resolved to bring FATA at par with rest of the country and providing all facilities.

The prime minister wished Iqbal Jhagra well on the assignment. The governor-designate thanked the prime minister for reposing trust in him by nominating him as governor and said he would continue the work initiated by his predecessor for improving conditions in FATA.
