Govt to continue pursuing development agenda in response to politics of sit-ins: PM


Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said, the government will continue to implement the development agenda in response to politics of sit-ins.He was addressing a big public meeting after laying foundation stone of Dera Ismail Khan-Hakla Motorway and other projects.The two hundred and eighty-five kilometer long motorway is part of western route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.It will be completed at a cost of over 129 billion rupees in two years.The Prime Minister said those claiming to create new Pakistan could do nothing in even Khyber Pakhtunkhua.He said such elements have lost support even in Peshawar by-election.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister announced different development projects including  Agriculture University for Dera Ismail Khan. He also directed Pakistan international Airline and Civil Aviation Authority to make arrangements for international flights from the area.He announced one hundred and twenty billion rupees for Chashma Right Bank Canal. Work on this important project will be started immediately and completed in a period of three months.The Prime Minister announced development funds worth 500 million rupees for the District. Besides, he announced 770 million rupees for the provision of gas to all tehsils of Dera Ismail Khan.

In his speech Chief of Jamiyat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman said the people want economic development and peace in the country and they will foil any conspiracy against the democratic set up. He said some people want to derail the democracy but democratic forces will not allow them to do it.
