Govt plans new security for Quaid’s mausoleum

KARACHI: The federal government today given its nod to a new security plan, for the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.In view of the terrorist activity, the provincial government has decided to upgrade security arrangements under which the boundary wall of the Quaid’s mausoleum would be raised to nine feet.As many as 10 watch towers would be constructed inside the Mazar-e-Quaid, while 40 new barriers would also be constructed.

Under-Vehicle Inspection System would also be installed to check the vehicles coming to visit the mausoleum, while 38 latest night-vision cameras would also be installed.The cost for security project has been estimated at Rs 40million, for which the management of the tomb issued a tender.
