Govt determined to eliminate terrorism at all costs: PM

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said incumbent PML-N-led government is determined to eliminate terrorism at all costs.
Addressing the US-Pak Business Council here yesterday, PM Sharif said ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb would be taken to its logical end.
He said that Pakistan considered US as most important trade partner and highly valued bilateral relations and cooperation in different sectors.
He told the gathering that it was one of the top priorities of the government to address energy needs of the country. Several projects were already afoot in this connection, he added.
Meanwhile, the premier also met a delegation of Pakistan Oil and Gas Company led by its executive vice president who called on him in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Sharif said the government was making all out efforts to enhance oil and gas exploration in the country.
The prime minister said the government had announced petroleum policy which provided lucrative incentives to oil companies in term of price and other inducement.
Meanwhile, the prime minister has assured the farmers community of Balochistan province that all of their grievances will be addressed and the problems faced by them will be solved.
Talking to a delegation of agriculturists from Balochistan who called on him at PM House yesterday, PM Sharif said Balochistan was close to his heart and he was taking keen interest to resolve all the issues of the province.
He directed the Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Sikandar Hayat Bosan to meet Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri at the earliest for addressing the issues and concerns of the agriculturists of Balochistan. “Issues that need to be addressed at the provincial level should be resolved in consultation with the provincial government while those pertaining to the federal government should be brought to my notice for their solution at the earliest,” said the prime minister.
The prime minister assured the visiting delegates that the federal government was well aware of the fact that agriculture was the lifeline of the country and majority of the people were dependent on this sector to earn their living.
“The agriculture sector has rightly been accorded top most priority by the present government as Pakistan’s economy is agriculture-based,” he maintained.
Minister for National Food Security and Research (NFSR) Sikandar Hayat Bosan was also present during the meeting.
Members of the delegation apprised the premier of problems and issues relating to the agriculture sector in the province. The delegation comprised Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Senator Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar, Senator Sardar Azam Musakhel, Senator Mir Kabir M Shahi, Senator Sardar Fateh Muhammad Hassani, Senator Saee ul Hassan Mandokhel, Senator Dawood Achakzai, Senator DR Jahanzeb Jamaldindi, Senator Hafiz Hamdullah and others.
