Govt committed to taking care of minorities

LAHORE – Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs and Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sandhu has urged the students to utilise their energies for development and progress of the country.
He was addressing a reception hosted in honour of the students of Kinnaird College and FC College at FC College University here on Friday.
Rector FC College University James A Tebbe, Principal Kinnaird College for Women Dr Rukhsana David, Dr Peter, Col Khaqan, Bishop of Lahore Irfan Jamil, Dr Alexander John Malik besides a large number of teachers and students were present on the occasion.
The minister said Christian community had made commendable efforts for the creation as well as progress of the country. He said services of missionary institutions in education and health sectors had been acknowledged at every platform.
He said the Punjab government had taken effective measures for the welfare and betterment of minorities which included allocation of five percent quota in jobs and setting up of Minorities Advisory Council.
He said minorities would continue to serve the country with dedication.
