GCU Lahore tops declamation contest

RISALPUR:Government College University Lahore on Sunday won the All Pakistan bilingual declamation contest held here at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Academy Risalpur.Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sohail Aman was the chief guest on the occasion. Talented youth from at least 45 premier institutions of Pakistan participated in the contest.GCU Lahore’s Hammad Shafi won the first prize and Syeda Rameesha Ali of Karachi University received the second prize in English category. In Urdu debates, Awais Ahmed of GCU Lahore stood first and Amshal Javed of Dow University of Health Sciences stood second.The bilingual declamation contest has been a regular feature on the academic training calendar of PAF Academy since 1974. The declamation contest over the years has become a prestigious event for leading universities, colleges, and institutions from Karachi to Khyber.Enthusiastic teams gather at PAF Academy Risalpur every year from all over the country and actively participate in the contest. They also get a chance to interact with the cadets and get a glimpse of life in the academy.
