ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has decided to acquire arrest warrants from the court against three key accused including Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain in Dr Imran Farooq murder case.
The other accused nominated in FIR include Iftikhar Hussain and Muhammad Anwar.
Sources said the arrest warrants will be sent to Britain via Interpol.
The FIA on December 05 last year, registered a case against Altaf Hussain and other party leaders for the murder of Dr Imran Farooq.
The case was registered by the government of Pakistan under Section 302 (premeditated murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).
Dr Farooq, prominent leader of the MQM was murdered in 2010 outside his residence in London as a result of multiple stabs and a blow to his head.
