PESHAWAR – The Department of Tourism and Culture in collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Council and Peshawar Press Club, on Friday celebrated 93rd birthday of the legendary actor, Dilip Kumar. Dilip Kumar – Yousaf Khan, was born in a Hindko-speaking Awan family at Mohallah Khudadad near Qissakhwani bazaar of the provincial capital and spent 12 years of his childhood there. Bollywood movie stars, including Amitabh Bachan, Govinda, widow of Amjad Khan and Manoj Kumar, Naseer uddin Shah, Shashi Kapoor also shared their thoughts about the legend Dilip Kumar and India-Pakistan peace cooperation via phone. Saira Banu, the wife of Dilip Kumar, was also among the guest speakers via phone. Earlier, via Twitter, Dilip Kumar thanked the city of Peshawar for celebrating his birthday in his home town.
The event was attended by a large number of guests, including Additional Secretary Sports, Tourism, Culture, Archaeology, Museums & Youth Affairs Department Muhammad Tariq, Director Culture Abdul Basit, Director Archaeology Abdul Samad, Younas Kayali (CHC), Shakeel and members of media.
