De Villiers first captain to hit three centuries in ODI series

AB de Villiers is making runs for fun these days, but it’s not the case for the bowlers who are the at receiving end of a fire-spitting bat wielded by South Africa’s ODI captain.

Team India is the latest to bear the brunt of that when De Villiers plundered 109 off just 61 balls, including 11 sixes and 3 fours, to join two other centurions – Quinton de Kock and Faf du Plessis – in a record-breaking innings that stopped at 438 for 4 at the end of 50 overs on Sunday in Mumbai.

The mayhem earned South Africa a 214-run victory, and with it their first every ODI series win on Indian soil.
