ISLAMABAD: The Special Court constituted to hear the high treason case against former army chief General (r) Pervez Musharraf, ordered his properties be seized and his accounts be frozen on Tuesday.
The three-member Special Court under Justice Mazhar Alam Mian Khel heard the case.
According to details, a hearing of the high treason case against former army chief General (r) Pervez Musharraf was held on Tuesday. The court ordered all properties owned by General (r) Musharraf, their details and other authorities be seized. The court also issued the order to freeze all bank accounts of the former army chief.
The ruling also called for all records to be deposited with the court through the sessions judge.
Musharraf’s lawyer stated that there were others who also owned a share in his properties. The court responded by stating that whoever had a share in the property should present himself/herself before the court and make their case.
The court remarked that decisions would be made according to the law.
In March 2014, Pervez Musharraf was formally charged with treason for imposing emergency and the Provisional Constitutional Order on November 3, 2007.
In May 2016, the Special Court declared General (r) Pervez Musharraf a proclaimed offender in the high treason case.
