Toronto: Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has already been banned from all U.S. airlines and now Canada has officially announced to ban the Samsung device.
An official transportation organization of Canada stated on its website, “the device is no longer allowed in any aircraft effective immediately.”
The Canadian ban is similar to the restriction approved by U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration and implies to both carry-on and checked luggage.
U.S. officials said passengers who violate these rules would face fines or legal actions.
Marc Garneau, Canada’s minister of transport said in a statement, “Canada has one of the safest aviation systems in the world, and protecting the safety of passengers and flight crews is paramount. If notified of any potential threat to aviation safety, the government does not hesitate to take action in the best interests of Canadians.”
