Big battle between two giants in grand final of PSL today

DUBAI – The grand final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be contested between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators on Tuesday evening at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The match will start at 9.00pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST).

Pakistani cricket star Waseem Akram and former West Indian cricketer Viv Richard have coached their teams, Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators. Tuesday’s showdown between the two teams will also be a test for the two legends as both are hopeful for victory of their sides.

Sarfraz Ahmed, the captain of Quetta Gladiators, foresees a tough fight with Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League final. Sarfraz Ahmed said that the side had already beaten United earlier in the competition and the team is in good form. Misbahul Haq, on the other hand, said that Quetta was a tough side but the team’s morale was high after winning four consecutive matches.

Islamabad United are the hot favourite for the bookies in the final of Pakistan Super League’s first season to be played on Tuesday (today) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. They are said to have lost most of the cash during the last match, in which Islamabad United defeated Peshawar Zalmi and are using their cheque books.


Earlier, Sarfraz Ahmed’s Quetta Gladiators topped the round robin stage after winning six out of their eight games while Misbah-ul-Haq’s Islamabad United came third after emerging victorious in four matches. Gladiators qualified for the final after beating Peshawar Zalmi in the first play-off match of the competition. United beat Karachi Kings in the eliminator and sealed their place in the final by beating Zalmi in the third play-off match.
