CHARSADDA - The Bacha Khan University (BKU) will remain closed till provision of foolproof security and trained security guards.
The decision in this regard was at a meeting chaired by BKU Vice Chancellor Dr Fazl Raheem here on Monday. The meeting asked the Ministry of Interior to provide at least 25 trained security guards to the varsity, BKU Registrar Prof Hamidullah and spokesman Saeedullah Khan Khalid told the media later.
The meeting also demanded a judicial inquiry into the terrorist attack and noted that the Higher Education Commission had been requested time and again to provide grant for security arrangements but in vain.
It was decided to give compensation of Rs 100,000 to the bereaved families of each victim and cash prizes to secuiry guards, who had demonstrated valour during the terrorist attack.
The meeting expressed concern over blame-game against the vice chancellor and security chief by certain quarters holding the two responsible for the security lapse. If such blame game continued they would hold demonstrations for seeking action against the government officers responsible for D I Khan jailbreak and other terror incidents, they warned.
