KARACHI: Aseefa Bhutto Zardari visited the residence of PAF officer Marium Mukhtiar, the first female fighter jet pilot who embraced martyrdom during a mission near Mianwali, in Malir Cantonment and offered Fateha and condolence to the bereaved family on Friday.
Talking to Mukhtiar Ahmed Shaikh, father of the martyred jet pilot and her other family members, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari paid glowing homage to Marium Mukhtar adding that her martyrdom raised the heads high of entire Pakistani nation especially the women. She told the bereaved family that “they raised an amazing woman, she is an inspiration to women and girls across Pakistan. I salute Marium”. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari said that it was a dream-turned-mission of her mother and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto that women of Pakistan play their role shoulder-by-shoulder with the men for the development, progress and defence of the country. One of her family members requested Aseefa Bhutto Zardari for renaming a school by Shaheed Marium Mukhtar to which she agreed to take efforts.
