ISLAMABAD: United States (US) Special Envoy Richard Olson called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Thursday and discussed the regional security especially Afghanistan situation.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Sharif and Olson discussed regional security and present situation of Afghanistan. The US envoy praised Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism.
Earlier, the US envoy met Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar in which they discussed bilateral relations whereas Nisar informed Olson of Pakistan’s concerns on F-16 jets sale.
Olson said the US wants to broaden its relations with Pakistan despite some problems. The two leaders also discussed regional security in general and Afghanistan situation in particular.
The US envoy praised Pakistan’s efforts in Afghan reconciliation process.
