ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was held on Monday to review national and regional security situation.
The meeting, which was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif, was held to review matters pertaining to the National Action Plan and Operation Zarb-e-Azb, sources said.
It was decided in the meeting that the Armed Forces and intelligence agencies would continue to play a leadership role in the war against terrorism.
The situation resulting from heightened tensions between Pakistan and India following Indian firing across the Line of Control was also discussed.
DG ISI was also present at the meeting.
