ISLAMABAD: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has expanded its existing educational facilities to far-flung regions, said a press release. Vice Chancellor Prof Shahid Siddiqui, while presiding over regional directors’ conference of Sindh, said that the university decided to strengthen their regional campuses so as to improve the quality of education and provide the best possible services to its 1.3 million students.
He said that the regional offices have been given extra support to meet their financial, technical and human-resource requirements to meet their target of as many students as possible. He also advised
the regional directors to lay greater focus on quality education and upholding the university’s role as a research-based organisation.Director of Regional Services Dr Arif Salem Arif apprised the vice chancellor of the overall performance, achievements and problems of the different regions.
During this one-day conference, the provincial regional directors presented detailed reports of their respective regions with respect to admissions and examinations.
